The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in California are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The beautiful scenery of California and the water flowing gracefully down Sycamore Creek are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This stretch of Sycamore Creek is 3 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV(V) section by American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before
you come because it is a very popular destination. There's camping available near Sycamore Creek. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back
to put-in a few times. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Whitewater paddling here in the Central Sierra Nevada is a great experience. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well.

along the Bobs Flat Trail, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Sycamore Creek; Deep Creek Trail is a tremendous local trail. Summer brings highs in the 90's to Sycamore Creek, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are usually in the 50's, and night lows throughout the winter for Sycamore Creek tend to be in the 30's.
