If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The wonderful California scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This stretch of Sycamore Creek is 3 miles long
and is a class III-IV(V) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places.
You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This stretch is short so no need to bring snacks. Whitewater paddling here in the Central Sierra Nevada is a great experience.

most rain; the driest of the months is July. Don't leave Sycamore Creek without first going for a hike along the Bobs Flat Trail, and there's perfect hiking along the Deep Creek Trail. All through the summertime months, highs mostly are in the 90's at Sycamore Creek. All through
the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 50's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Sycamore Creek temperatures drop to the 30's.
