  The Trimmer Springs Road to Kings River section of Sycamore Creek in California is 2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V section. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The wonderful California scenery and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. This section is quite short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're
    willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The river winds through the Central Sierra Nevada and you get great scenery. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states,
so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Trimmer Springs Road to Kings River section is one of them. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots.

But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Central Sierra Nevada. Sycamore Creek is pretty waterless mostly; most of the rain falls all through January, and the driest
 
of the months is July.
Through the warm months, highs regularly are in the 90's at Sycamore Creek while overnight lows are typically in the 60's. For the duration of the winter the highs are generally in the 50's with temperatures at Sycamore Creek dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights. Good hiking is available along the Bobs Flat Trail, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Sycamore Creek; Deep Creek Trail is a good local trail.
