Mariposa
county,
Super Slide section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS V 1 miles
The Super Slide section of Tenaya Creek in Mariposa County is 1 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V section. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in California are often more challenging than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The beautiful scenery of California and the water flowing gracefully down Tenaya Creek will make you feel great. This is a very short section so better bring some good walking shoes. The beautiful Central Sierra Nevada
scenery is an added bonus. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. You
might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The Super Slide section is the only paddling section along Tenaya Creek. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
