When you're paddling down a Klamath Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camp stove. find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. Thomes Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Above Paskenta stretch is the only one. This section of Thomes Creek in California is 22 miles long
and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

Whiskey Saddle, and Government Spring is an inspiring place to explore while here. During the summer at Thomes Creek highs are commonly in the 90's; the night is quite chillier of course, commonly in the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and after
