The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch of Trinity River in California is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V section of whitewater. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Cedar Flat to Hawkins Bar section is just one of many. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Briefly about the general area: Burnt Ranch Falls is a gorgeous location to visit while you're at Trinity River, and a short spree   to Gray Falls is always worthwhile. Yeah, come up here to the Coast Ranges for a great time. Trinity River sees pretty high levels of precipitation; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is July. All through the summer months here at Trinity River, high temperatures generally reach the 90's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 50's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Trinity River temperatures plunge to the 30's.
