The natural beauty of California and the playfulness of the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. There are
campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The beautiful Coast Ranges scenery is an added bonus. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd
better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch of Trinity River in California is 10 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V section of whitewater. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Cedar Flat to Hawkins Bar section is just one of many. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here.
Briefly about the general area: Burnt Ranch Falls is a gorgeous location to visit while you're at Trinity River, and a short spree
