The Cedar Flat to Hawkins Bar stretch of Trinity River in Trinity County is 10 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting a good workout and just     hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. There's camping available near Trinity River. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The river winds through the Coast Ranges and you get great scenery. Briefly about the general area: Put some time aside to spend at Burnt Ranch Falls if you're here at Trinity River; Gray Falls is always fun to check out. Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Trinity River while overnight lows are regularly in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the   highs are mostly in the 50's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Trinity River. Yeah, come up here to the Coast Ranges for a good time. Trinity River is a relatively wet place usually with a good deal of rain; December is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is July.
