A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. The natural beauty of California and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Pigeon Point Campground to Cedar Flat stretch is one of many     paddling stretches in this river system. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The wild scenery of the Klamath Mountains is great. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside California you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Briefly about the general area: Trinity River is a wet spot that gets a large amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. If you want a little side spree, try French Bar. For the duration of the warm   days of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 90's at Trinity River while overnight lows are usually in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Trinity River temperatures drop to the 30's.
