A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. The scenic beauty of California and the water flowing gracefully down Trinity River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance     because these hotels fill up quick. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Tangle Blue Creek to Clair Engle Lake section is one of them. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your sleeping bag. The wild scenery of the Klamath Mountains is great. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. This stretch of Trinity River in Trinity County is 13.6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. Briefly about the general area: All through the long summer days highs here at Trinity River reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Trinity River. Cold Valley is a delightful place   to pop by close by. Around Trinity River you don’t get a lot of rain; December is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is July.
