The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Tangle Blue Creek to Clair Engle Lake section is one of them.     You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The campgrounds here at Trinity River are pretty good. This stretch of Trinity River in Trinity County is 13.6 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. The Klamath Mountains scenery is wonderful. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. Trinity River is pretty arid typically; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is the month with the least moisture.
