California whitewater - Trinity River - East Fork, Trinity County Trinity county, Rams Horn Road to Clair Engle Lake section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS IV-V+     8 miles   This stretch of Trinity River - East Fork is 8 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V+ section by American Whitewater. The Rams Horn Road to Clair Engle Lake stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. And of     course, there are campgrounds nearby. The nature scenery of California and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners.
