The Downstream from Forest Glen section of Trinity River - South Fork is 8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV-V section. When you're paddling down a Coast Ranges river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle,
it's good length for a morning trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will make
you glad you came. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The wonderful Trinity County scenery and the cool fresh water beats anything.
