Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad
you came. The nature scenery of Placer/ Nevada County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll
have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your camping stuff too. When you're paddling down a Northern Sierra Nevada river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The Alpine Meadows Road to Floriston stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system.
