There's camping available near Tuolumne River. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Central Sierra Nevada scenery is wonderful. The beautiful scenery of California and the playfulness of the water attract people     from near and far. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Tioga Road Bridge to Hetch Hetchy Reservoir section is one of them. Briefly about the general area: Tuolumne River is a rather wet place commonly with much rain; January is when you get the most rain here; July meanwhile is the driest month. Hiking along the Ten Lakes Trail is glorious fun. All through the warmest time of the year, highs usually are in the   80's at Tuolumne River. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Tuolumne River are in the 20's.
