The beautiful scenery of Trinity County and the water flowing gracefully down Van Duzen River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The beautiful Coast Ranges scenery is an added bonus. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch of Van Duzen River in Trinity County is 7.2 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according
to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around
here. There are no other stretches to paddle along Van Duzen River than the West Fork to Senteney Creek stretch. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip.
