The natural beauty of Trinity County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The campgrounds here at Van Duzen River are pretty good. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The West Fork to Senteney Creek section of Van Duzen River in Trinity County is
7.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III section of whitewater. The Coast Ranges scenery is wonderful. Van Duzen River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the West Fork to Senteney Creek stretch is the only one. On this section you do get some distance,
you can easily run it on an afternoon. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers.
