The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The wonderful California scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. The river winds through the Central Sierra Nevada and
you get great scenery. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This is
a short paddling stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that.
