  The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in California are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This stretch of Yosemite Creek in California is 8 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. Yosemite Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Tioga Pass Road to Yosemite Falls stretch is the only one. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are
    lots of good places for that around here. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. The natural beauty of California and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come
here to paddle. When you're paddling down a Central Sierra Nevada river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

The warmest time of the year at Yosemite Creek arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Through the wintertime highs are frequently in the 40's while Yosemite Creek nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's. Going for a hike on the Hetch Hetchy Trail is always a wonderful adventure; you can go for a hike on the North Dome Trail.
