Tioga Pass Road to Yosemite Falls section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS IV-V 8 miles
The natural beauty of Mariposa County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This section of Yosemite Creek is 8 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. Yosemite Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Tioga Pass Road to Yosemite Falls section is the only one. Whether you're whitewater
rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. No need to look hard for hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch
is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. The beautiful Central Sierra Nevada scenery is an added bonus. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
