The scenic beauty of California and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The put-in is not too far from Yuba City-Marysville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You might be into     whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Sierra Nevada is a great experience. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. The campgrounds here at Yuba River are pretty good. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in California are harder than the national norm, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. Briefly about the general area: If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Sierra Nevada. If you're here at Yuba River, do take a visit to Rolleys Point, and a splendid   place is Chute Ravine. All through the summer at Yuba River highs are mostly in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Yuba River. Yuba River frequently gets much rainfall; during the month of January you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is July.
