The Englebright Dam to Highway 20 stretch of Yuba River in Yuba/ Nevada County is 6 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside California you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The scenic beauty of Yuba/ Nevada County
and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are
plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. The wild scenery of the Northern Sierra Nevada is great.

Nevada. A day at Pine Island Beach close to Yuba River is time well spent; while you're here at Yuba River, checking out Timbuctoo Bend is a must. At Yuba River during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 90's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 60's. Throughout the
wintertime highs are usually in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Yuba River are in the 30's. Yuba River is in a good location in the shadow of the Sand Hills; close by Big Ravine is a brilliant site to go. Yuba River is a good place of common rainfall; January is the wettest month with most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. A river like this is too good to miss.
