The nature scenery of California and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. If you're coming from Yuba City-Marysville it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. When you're paddling
down a Northern Sierra Nevada river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near.
This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Englebright Dam to Highway 20 section is just one of them. This stretch of Yuba River in Yuba/ Nevada County is 6 miles long and it is classified as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in California are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip.

general area: Summertime brings highs in the 90's to Yuba River, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 50's, and overnight lows at Yuba River through the wintertime ordinarily drop into the 30's. Yuba River
gets a common amount of precipitation; all through January this area sees the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. A river like this is too good to miss. These mountains rock, just explore all the amusing stuff to do in the Northern Sierra
Nevada. A glorious site to go to right next door to Yuba River is Big Ravine; the landscape is dominated by the Sand Hills. You must definitely pop by Timbuctoo Bend since you're here at Yuba River; beaches are great and Pine Island Beach is no exception.
