CLASS III-V 22 miles
The starting location is a short drive from Truckee-Grass Valley, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Yuba River - Middle Fork is 22 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-V section. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. The beauty of the Northern Sierra Nevada is a great plus for this river. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number
of good spots. There's camping available near Yuba River - Middle Fork. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. The wonderful Sierra/ Nevada/ Yuba County scenery and the water flowing gracefully
down Yuba River - Middle Fork will make you feel great. The Plumago Crossing to Route 49 stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

highs at Yuba River - Middle Fork ordinarily tend to be in the 80's; the overnight is quite cooler of course, usually in the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's while Yuba River - Middle Fork nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in
the 20's. This is such a fun river. A trip to Jackies Orchard Spring will fill your spirit with nice feelings. You completely should fancy the Northern Sierra Nevada. Don't leave Yuba River - Middle Fork without first paying a visit to Holden Springs, and you can have a tremendous
hiking adventure along the Lafayette Ridge Trail. Bope Ravine is near Yuba River - Middle Fork and is beyond doubt a magnificent site to pop by; do take a hike on the Humbug Trail. Much rainfall falls at Yuba River - Middle Fork; January is when you get the most rain here; July on the other hand is the driest.
