This stretch of Yuba River - Middle Fork in California is 4.5 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Truckee-Grass Valley, as you can see on the road map further down. The wonderful California scenery and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that the
rivers in this state are less manageable. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Sierra Nevada is a great experience.
You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Route 49 to North Fork Yuba section is just one of them.

hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at Yuba River - Middle Fork dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. This is a great river. A cool spot to check out near Yuba River
