Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The wonderful Nevada/ Yuba County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. The Route 49 to North Fork Yuba section of Yuba River - Middle Fork is 4.5 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. There are so many sections
to paddle in this river system, the Route 49 to North Fork Yuba section is just one of many. The put-in is not too far from Truckee-Grass Valley, as you can see on the road map further down. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Getting some good
exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is wonderful. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
