Whitewater rafting and kayaking in California is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This section of Yuba River - North Fork in California is 8.5 miles long and is a class IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The Goodyears Bar Bridge to Highway 49 Bridge section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. Since you're     on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Sierra Nevada is a great experience. The put-in location is a short drive from Truckee-Grass Valley, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page.
