This section of Yuba River - North Fork is 8.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV section. The scenic beauty of Sierra County and the cool fresh water beats anything. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system,     there are others too. The campgrounds here at Yuba River - North Fork are pretty good. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The beautiful Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is an added bonus. Briefly about the general area: Hiking along the Halls Ranch Trail is good fun. The high level of precipitation makes Yuba River - North Fork a pretty wet spot; of all the months in a year January is the one with the   most rain, and the driest of the months is July. For the period of the summertime, highs mostly are in the 80's at Yuba River - North Fork. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 40's; overnight lows at Yuba River - North Fork through the wintertime ordinarily dip into the 20's.
