The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Yuba City-Marysville, as you can see on the road map further down. The wonderful California scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Yuba River - North Fork beats anything. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Yuba River - North Fork in Yuba County is 2.3 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The campgrounds here at Yuba River - North Fork are pretty good. When
you're paddling down a Northern Sierra Nevada river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near.
