The Kingvale to     Cisco Grove section of Yuba River - South Fork is 5.2 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Sierra Nevada is a great experience. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Kingvale to Cisco Grove stretch is just one of many. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There's camping available near Yuba River - South Fork. Everybody close by loves skiing at Royal Gorge; there are great places to discover along the Glacier Lakes Trail. A visit to Jones Valley is always fun; going for a hike on the Loch Leven Trail is always a perfect adventure.
