After 1.5 miles on Purdon Road you get to the river, that's where you put in. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. The beautiful scenery of Nevada County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. The Northern Sierra Nevada scenery is wonderful. No need to look hard for hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these   hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: No need to travel far to check out interesting stuff like Devils Slide; you could always discover Meyers Ravine. The high level of rainfall makes Yuba River - South Fork a relatively wet location; January is the month that gets the most rain; July is when it's the driest. For the period of the warm months highs here at Yuba River - South Fork reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's.
