The put-in is not too far from Durango, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This stretch is short so better bring some good walking shoes. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. If you'll     be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
