The scenic beauty of Chaffe County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other good places for that around here. The East Buena Vista to Fisherman's Bridge section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Colorado     are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The wild scenery of the Sawatch Range is great. There are many good hotels to choose from, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Briefly about the general area: Arkansas River is a location that is reasonably dehydrated frequently; during August this area sees the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Chinaman Gulch is right next door to Arkansas River and is unquestionably a great location to take a look at. The warmest time of the year brings   highs in the 80's to Arkansas River while overnight lows are generally in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Arkansas River.
