The wonderful Colorado scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's perfect for a one day trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the East Buena Vista to Fisherman's     Bridge section is just one of them. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The beauty of the Sawatch Range is a great plus for this river. Briefly about the general area: Since you're here at Arkansas River why not stop by Chinaman Gulch. Throughout the long summer days at Arkansas River temperatures are regularly in the 80's, and   the night is somewhat cooler of course, generally in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Arkansas River dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. Arkansas River is pretty arid mostly; most of the rain falls during August, and January meanwhile is the driest month.
