If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Colorado you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. No shortage of good hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some     kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other spots. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. The wonderful Colorado scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. Briefly about the general area: Near Arkansas River you find Bails Gulch which is a good spot to visit; if you're here you can take a hike along the Simmons Peak Trail. Throughout the warmest time of the year highs here at Arkansas River get into the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; night lows in the 0's for Arkansas River.
