  The nature scenery of Colorado and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. If you're coming from Canon City it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. The beauty of the Front Range is a great plus for this river.
    This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is
a very popular destination. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good spots. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The Highway Pinnacle Rock Launch

Briefly about the general area:
Sulphur Gulch is a fine place to check out in the neighborhood of Arkansas River, and the Tanner Trail offers hiking at its best. Be careful coming to the Front Range, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Arkansas River is not far at all from Cotopaxi. Summertime highs at Arkansas River frequently tend to be in the 70's. Summer night lows descend down to the 40's. All through the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Arkansas River temperatures drop to the-10's.
