CLASS V 2.5 miles
The wonderful Colorado scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch of Boulder Creek is 2.5 miles long and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. Since you're on this site you are
probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The campgrounds here at Boulder Creek are pretty good. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The
beautiful Front Range scenery is an added bonus. The Gun Shy to Jasper Creek stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people.
