Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The starting location is a short drive from Boulder, as you can see on the road map further down. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Rollinsville to Pinecliffe section is just one of     them. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. No shortage of good hotels, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. This stretch of Boulder Creek - South in Boulder County is 6 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV section. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. The river winds through the Front Range and you get great scenery. Briefly about the general area: If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Front Range. Boulder Creek - South is right by the Bolling Gulch Trail. Boulder Creek - South is a location that is reasonably dry   commonly; most of the rain falls through August; February on the other hand is the driest. Through the summertime months highs here at Boulder Creek - South get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are commonly in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Boulder Creek - South. Hiking along the Mount Thorodin Trail is glorious fun, and Burns Gulch is a perfect spot to spend some time.
