If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The wonderful Colorado scenery and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. stretch of Boulder Creek - South is 2.6 miles long and is a class V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a pretty short section
so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. If you're coming from Boulder it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. The beauty of the Front Range is a great plus for this river.
