The Gross Mountain Reservoir to Eldorado State Park stretch of Boulder Creek - South in Boulder County is 7.2 miles long and it is classified as a class IV(V+) section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Colorado scenery and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too.
