The wonderful Colorado scenery and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The wild scenery of the Front Range is great. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time     outdoors are great reasons to come. If you're coming from Boulder it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. No need to look hard for hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. Briefly about the general area: Boulder Creek - South is pretty waterless usually; throughout May this area sees the most rain; January meanwhile is the driest month. Go for a hike on the Bear   Peak Trail; a magnificent spot to stop by is Kentucky Gulch. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Front Range. Don't leave Boulder Creek - South without first going for a hike along the Mesa Trail. Throughout the summertime, highs usually are in the 80's at Boulder Creek - South, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Boulder Creek - South tend to be in the 10's.
