The beautiful scenery of Colorado and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. This stretch of Boulder Creek - South in Boulder County is 0.75 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V+ section of whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Colorado are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Eldorado Canyon stretch is just one of many. A bit of
exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. The Front
Range scenery is wonderful. This section is very short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Lodging is available near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Boulder, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost.
