The 64.30 Road to Collbran section of Buzzard Creek is 7 miles long and is a class IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Colorado is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The 64.30 Road to Collbran stretch is the only paddling stretch along Buzzard Creek. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay |

The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Buzzard Creek. It is very waterless here at Buzzard Creek commonly; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is January.
