The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Colorado are often more challenging than in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The wonderful Larimer County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Cache La Poudre River will make you feel great. The Medicine Bow Mountains scenery is wonderful. This stretch of Cache La Poudre River is 2.4 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to
drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. No matter if you're
whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. The Big South Campground to Tunnel Picnic Ground stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking shoes.
