The Home Moraine to Indian Meadows Bridge section of Cache La Poudre River is 9.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV section. If you're coming from Fort Collins-Loveland it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The natural beauty of Larimer
County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might
have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. When you're paddling down a Medicine Bow Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the
way too.
