The Indian Meadows Bridge to Narrows Picnic Ground section of Cache La Poudre River in Larimer County is 8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. The put-in is not too far from Fort Collins-Loveland, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but
you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The scenic beauty of Larimer County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. You can pitch
a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. When you're paddling down a Medicine Bow Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here.
