This section of Cache La Poudre River is 3.4 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V+ section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. This is a somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The beauty of the Medicine Bow Mountains is a great plus for this river. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A bit of exercise and
a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well.
