The put-in is not too far from Fort Collins-Loveland, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The natural beauty of Colorado and the cool fresh water beats anything. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. There
are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. This is a short paddling stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Whitewater paddling here in the Medicine Bow Mountains is a great experience. You might be into
whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling places. This section of Cache La Poudre River is 3.3 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.

is always a wonderful adventure. There is a brilliant hiking trail close to Cache La Poudre River called the Mount McConnel Trail; a great spot to check out is Skin Gulch. It is very dried up here at Cache La Poudre River ordinarily; July is the wettest month with most rain while December is ordinarily the driest month.
