CLASS III 3 miles
The Mishiwaka Inn to Poudre Park Picnic Ground stretch of Cache La Poudre River in Colorado is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The beautiful scenery of Colorado and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. When you're
paddling down a Medicine Bow Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking,
either way around here you'll find a large number of good places. This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There's camping available near Cache La Poudre River. If you're coming from Fort Collins-Loveland it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page.
