  The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Colorado are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This section of Cache La Poudre River is 3 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Larimer County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here
    to paddle. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a somewhat short section so you'll
have to walk back to the start over and over. There's camping available near Cache La Poudre River. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Fort Collins-Loveland, as you can see on the road map further down. The Mishiwaka Inn to Poudre Park Picnic Ground section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. No matter if you're whitewater  
rafting or kayaking there are lots of good places for that around here. Whitewater paddling here in the Medicine Bow Mountains is a great experience.

Briefly about the general area:
Lots of people from Bellvue come to Cache La Poudre River; why not take a refreshing hike along the Greyrock Trail. And that's not everything you can do here in the Medicine Bow Mountains. A good site to have a look at in the neighborhood of Cache La Poudre River is Falls Gulch, and Lory State Park is a great location to go. This is such a great river. Take a hike on the Wintersteen Trail. For the period of the warm days of summer, highs regularly are in the 70's at Cache La Poudre River while nighttime lows are typically in the 40's.
