If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The wonderful Larimer County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Cache La Poudre River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch of Cache La Poudre River in Colorado is 2.4 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Fort Collins-Loveland, please print out a copy of the
road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The river winds through the Front Range and you get great scenery. You might have
to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. This stretch is short so better bring some good walking shoes. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well.
