Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Colorado is often tougher than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Fort Collins-Loveland, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nature scenery of Colorado and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons     enough to come here to paddle. The beauty of the Front Range is a great plus for this river. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: At Cache La Poudre River during the summertime highs are in the 70's. Summer   overnight lows plunge down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are typically in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Cache La Poudre River are in the 0's. Cache La Poudre River is pretty dehydrated mostly; the month with most of the rain is July while December is generally the driest month. And that's not all the things to do here in the Front Range. Going for a hike along the Wintersteen Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region; if the weather is tremendous, you can go for a hike along the Greyrock Trail.
