CLASS II-III 2.4 miles
This stretch of Cache La Poudre River in Larimer County is 2.4 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Colorado is often tougher than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Fort Collins-Loveland, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nature scenery of Colorado and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons
enough to come here to paddle. The beauty of the Front Range is a great plus for this river. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times.
A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good spots. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
