The Highway 149 to Blue Mesa Reservoir stretch of Cebolla River in Gunnison County is 10 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II section. The campgrounds here at Cebolla River are pretty good. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. This stretch is long enough     for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Cebolla River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Highway 149 to Blue Mesa Reservoir stretch is the only one. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The beautiful scenery of Gunnison County and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. Briefly about the general area: The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Tenmile Springs. Not much precipitation falls here at Cebolla River; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February. At Cebolla River during the warmest   time of the year highs are in the 80's while nighttime lows are typically in the 40's. All through the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's; nighttime lows at Cebolla River through the wintertime typically dip into the-10's.
