The scenic beauty of Clear Creek County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Boulder, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Colorado are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night,
and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Green Bay Rock stretch of Clear Creek is 5.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V(V+) section of whitewater. When you're paddling down a Front Range river like this one you always get great scenery
along the way too. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people.
Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 80's to Clear Creek. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. High temperatures
during the winter are normally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Clear Creek are in the 10's. From a rain point of view Clear Creek is a rather normal spot; April is the month that gets the most rain; October meanwhile is the driest month. It's always glorious to
go to Charm Spring, and there are glorious locations to look at along the Beaver Brook Trail. Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here in the Front Range. Guy Gulch is a pleasant place to pop by nearby.
