The average Colorado whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The nature scenery of Clear Creek County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Since you're on this site you are
probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places. The beauty of the Front Range is a great plus for this river. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are a few other stretches in
this river system that can be paddled as well. This stretch of Clear Creek in Colorado is 5.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV section. The campgrounds here at Clear Creek are pretty good. The put-in is not too far from Boulder, as you can see on the road map further down.
Briefly about the general area: Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Front Range rocks! Go for a hike on the Beaver Brook Trail. A visit to Indian Gulch is always fun, and Lariat Spring is a good local attraction. It is very
dried out here at Clear Creek usually; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is January. Summertime highs at Clear Creek generally tend to be in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Clear Creek.
