The natural beauty of Clear Creek County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the mile 267 to Golden section is one of them. in Colorado are harder than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. Lodging is available near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This stretch is mid length,
you can easily run it on an afternoon. The river winds through the Front Range and you get great scenery. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. This stretch of Clear Creek in Colorado is 5.5 miles long and is a class IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater.
Briefly about the general area: Indian Gulch is a great site to explore, and the Beaver Brook Trail offers hiking at its best. Throughout the summertime at Clear Creek highs are generally in the 80's. Once the sun is down
it falls down to the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Clear Creek. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! The Front Range is peerless! A short spree to Lariat Spring is always worthwhile. Not much
rain falls here at Clear Creek; the wettest month of the year is generally May, that's the one that rains the most, and January on the other hand is the driest.
