If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The nature scenery of Colorado and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have     people coming from far and near. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. If you're coming from Edwards it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. The Pumphouse campground to Rancho Del Rio section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Briefly about the general area: Colorado River gets very little rain; the month with most of the snow is March, and June on the other hand is the driest. Summertime at Colorado River   arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 0's for Colorado River.
