Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Colorado tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The Pumphouse campground to Rancho Del Rio section     of Colorado River is 11.6 miles long and has been rated as a class III section by American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Pumphouse campground to Rancho Del Rio stretch is one of them. Briefly about the general area: Colorado River gets very little rainfall; during the month of March you get the most snow around here; June is the month with the least moisture. At Colorado River during the summer highs are in the 70's, and the nighttime   is a tad colder of course, frequently in the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Colorado River fall into the 0's.
