  If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Colorado you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The Loma launch to Westwater launch stretch of Colorado River in Mesa / Green County is 25 miles long and is a class II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The campgrounds here at Colorado River are pretty good. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve
    in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The nature scenery of Mesa / Green County and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. A good workout and just being out
on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other rivers.

Briefly about the general area:
For the period of the long summer days at Colorado River temperatures are frequently in the 90's with overnight lows in the 60's. All through the winter highs are commonly in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Colorado River. Colorado River is usually a pretty dry spot; October is the month that gets the most rain while February is typically the driest month.
