  The Loma launch to Westwater launch stretch of Colorado River in Mesa / Green County is 25 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. The average Colorado whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The wonderful Colorado scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camp stove.
    A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Loma launch to Westwater launch section is just one
of them. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers.
