This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few     times. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Briefly about the general area: At Crystal River during the warm months highs are in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows all through the wintertime for Crystal River tend to be in the-10's. Crystal Canyon is close to Crystal River and is certainly a good site to have a look at, and Chimneys of Treasure Mountain is something you shouldn't miss if you're here.
