If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: It is very waterless here at Crystal River regularly; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February. Near Crystal River you come across Mud Gulch which is a good place to stop at.
