There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. The beautiful scenery of Pitkin/Gunnison County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is a short paddling stretch so no need to bring snacks. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state     tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Redstone to Penny Hot Springs stretch is just one of them.
