The nature scenery of Colorado and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The campgrounds here at Crystal River are pretty good. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. This section     of Crystal River in Pitkin County is 2.1 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times.
