The wonderful Pitkin County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Crystal River beats anything. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. This is not the only paddling stretch     in this river system, there are others too. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 80's to Crystal River. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. During the wintertime highs are commonly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Crystal River are in the 0's.
