The wonderful Gunnison County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the to scree slope section is just one of them. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. You might be into     whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a very short section so no need to bring snacks. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Don't leave Crystal River - North Fork without first checking out Mineral Point, and Crystal Canyon is a delightful spot to spend some time. Devils Rockpile is a tremendous spot to visit while in the neighborhood. Crystal River - North Fork is generally a relatively arid spot; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. High temperatures   at Crystal River - North Fork during the warm days of summer are in the 70's while night lows are frequently in the 40's.
